"Nashville in Harmony is the most rewarding adventure I have ever experienced. After a career in the music ministry and the music publishing industry, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to partner with this passionate group of singers as they embrace the challenge to excel musically and to make a dynamic difference in the community in which they live. Professional training at the collegiate and graduate levels, and years of experience conducting choirs across the US and abroad, have now come to fruition in the invitation to conduct this unique family of volunteer musicians from all across Music City. They often hear me say, "Let's stand; let's sing; let's change the world." I believe those three challenges embody who we are: 1) To stand together, shoulder to shoulder, modeling the colorful diversity of our community; 2) To sing out a cry for justice with the highest degree of artistry we can attain; and 3) To partner with those who share our mission to make an impact on our community." -- Don Schlosser

Mission Statement: Using music to build community and create social change.
|
Nashville in Harmony is proud to bring a unique style and voice to the Nashville scene. NIH brings Nashvillians together, both within the GLBT community and throughout the city.
We perform all styles of music, from classical (with a twist) to pop, utilizing a diversity of instruments from many to none at all. Our repertoire includes songs that align with our mission, those that are purely fun, and everything inbetween. NiH rehearses weekly on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm to 6 pm in the Green Hills area.
- We use music to build community and create social change.
- We are open to all adults who support the advancement of rights for GLBT people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender expression, sexual orientation, or religious belief.
- We welcome singers with basic musical skills.
If you have questions or are interested in becoming a singing member of Nashville in Harmony, contact Don at director@nashvilleinharmony.org.

| Bob Esparza House - "I joined Nashville in Harmony as accompanist in Fall of 2005. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Piano Performance I have spent a large portion of the last twenty years as accompanist, music director and vocal coach for several local theater companies, churches and schools. I am so honored to have this chance to bring my years of experience to NiH and do something that I love so much and that is providing accompaniment for great singers that is not just about the notes printed on the page but about giving support that is solid and orchestral in nature so that the singers and director can soar. For this rare opportunity I have to say a thousand "thank yous" to the chorus, our fantastic director Don Schlosser and to our faithful audiences who listen to us and share in our mission of using music to build bridges and create social change not only in Nashville but hopefully someday all around the world." -- Bob House |
